Office of Equity
Child and Family Well-Being (CFWB) established the Office of Equity to focus on diversity, equity and inclusion goals. This has led to positive engagement, outcomes, and experiences for employees and community members.
The Office of Equity’s work includes:
- Improving diversity and inclusion among the CFWB workforce
- Partnering with the County departments of Human Resources, Office of Equity and Racial Justice, the Health and Human Services Agency and CFWB Diversity and Inclusion teams, Human Relations Commission, Child and Family Strengthening Advisory Board, and Employee Resource Groups to support antiracism throughout the system.
- Working together with university and community partners to enhance hiring a diverse workforce
- Partnering with Behavioral Health Services to recruit and retain a diverse pool of clinicians to provide clinical services to children and families
- Reviewing policies and practices used in CFWB from an equity lens
- Developing racial impact statements related to the CFWB working group recommendations
- Leading discussions and restorative practice circles among CFWB staff
- Training and/or coordinating training of CFWB staff, community partners, legal partners, and resource families
- Consulting on CFWB cases regarding racial and cultural considerations
- Partnering with Resource Family Approval and Foster and Adoptive Resource Family Services to enhance recruitment efforts of families of color
