Luz supports close collaboration with communities and other jurisdictions, uplifting community-led decarbonization priorities, developing tools to tell stories and promote environmental justice work, and tailoring sustainability solutions to our region’s unique cultures and places. 

Luz previously served as a Program Director with the Environmental Leadership Program where she trained, mentored, and coached community facilitators, accessibility liaisons, and equity processors, and co-designed virtual and in-person conservation and environmental justice programming aligned with community input.  

Luz has over fifteen years of facilitation, curriculum design, and resource sharing experience. She possesses an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a focus on Applied Learning Development.  

Luz grew up in a small town south of San Antonio, Texas, where she had mostly cows and nopal as neighbors. She loves reading and gardening. In her garden you will currently find tulsi, cempasúchil, alpine strawberries, and lemon balm.

Outside of work, you’ll most likely find her at Libelula Books, Mnemonic Coffee, or cooking.
