Within California, call toll free 800-344-6000.
Call if you are:
- Concerned about a child’s safety
- A parent afraid you may harm your child

Next steps
When we get a report, a social worker evaluates the report to determine if the child is at risk. The risk factors you report help us decide if or how we investigate. We could:
- Investigate within 24 hours
- Investigate within 10 days
- Refer to a community agency without investigating
